A list of select bird and wildlife sightings in Leh during a recent trip is below.
Those we recognized because we had seen photos many times
- Ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea)
- Common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)
- Chukar Partiridge (Alectoris chukar)
- Black billed magpie (Pica pica)
- Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros)
- Tibetan wild ass (Equus kiang)
- Himalayan Marmot (Marmota himalayanus)
Those we did not recognize till someone beat us on the head with a club the day after the sighting
- Minissha Lamba (Homo sapiens)
